Edward Lawrence Peters, 82, of Aurora, passed away June 2, 2015.
He was born December 1, 1932 in Lamar, Colorado, the son of Elmer and Hazel (Eder) Peters. He was a graduate of Eads High School where he played sousaphone in the band. In his youth he was active in the Methodist Church and Boy Scouts, attending the 1950 Jamboree on the Mall in Washington D.C. He attended Barnes Business College. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He worked his way up from pot scrubber to Hotel Manager at the Olin Hotel in Denver where he worked for twenty-two years before becoming the regional manager for S&Z Corp which operated several local fast food franchises including Orange Julius and Denver's legendary Rockybilt hamburger stands. He retired as a store manager for PepsiCo. After his retirement he dedicated himself to serving his friends and neighbors and tending his flower gardens.
Edward is survived by two sons, Edward Lawrence (Lorna) Peters II and Ronald Mark Peters; and one grandchild, Donovan Peters. He is preceded in death by his father, Elmer E. Peters; mother, Hazel Peters; and brother, Roland Peters.

Memorial Service to be held at Westminster United Methodist Church on September 2, 2015 in the morning with funeral service to be held at Fort Logan National Cemetery at 2:30 that afternoon.
