Edward P. Iannacito

August 23, 1920 — April 25, 2015

Edward Pasquale Iannacito, 94, born 1920 in Denver, Colorado. Died April 25, 2015 at 9:30 AM at Clear Creek Rehabilitation Center.

Edward, born to betrothed Italian immigrants Dominic and Mary Iannacito, was the youngest of four siblings and the only boy. His three sisters, Pauline, Elizabeth and Stella, preceded Edward in passing.

Eddie went to Edison Elementary School, Skinner Junior High School and North High School where he was State High School Wrestling Champion.

Eddie joined the United States Navy at 20 years of age. He was at Pearl Harbor on December 7th, witnessing that surprise attack on the Naval Fleet. After three years in the Navy, Edward married Theresa Allegretto. They had their first son Daniel a year later. Three years later Edward was honorably discharged from the Navy. Eddie and Theresa settled in Denver where they had their second son, Steve.

Eddie trimmed trees for the city. He went to welding school, while working for Longero Boiler and Sheet Iron Works. He then landed a job at Coors Porcelain Company where he retired from 30 years later.

Edward has three grandchildren, Kimberly Bach, Anthony Iannacito and Effie Martin and three great-grandchildren, Conner, 16, Brayden, 9 and Dante, 6. Edward was a very talented artist and craftsman. He loved to read and learn about history and geography. He could work a crossword puzzle as fast as he could write. Edward was a mountain man, fisherman, dossant, archeologist, rock hound, black powder shooter, Scout Master and Eagle Scout. He loved the mountains and the Western lore that came with it.

Edward and his bright spirit will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his grand and great-grandchildren, Edward is survived by his wife, Theresa Iannacito, his son, Steve (Judith) Iannacito; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by son Daniel (Nina) Iannacito.

Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Children's Tumor Foundation.
