Elaine Hazlewood

January 19, 1922 — December 6, 2015

Elaine Hazlewood, 93, a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, peacefully passed away early Sunday morning, December 6, 2015.

Elaine was born and raised in Denver and graduated from South High School in 1939. She was an only child.

She married the late John L. Cain in 1940 and relocated to San Bruno, CA where she had twins David Cain and Diane Frank, currently of Darby, MT and Barbara Edwards of Littleton, CO. Elaine's second marriage, to Wayne D. Robison (now deceased), produced daughter, Laura (Musgrave), of Rohnert Park, CA. Ultimately, Elaine moved back to Denver with her family.

Elaine excelled in her career outside the home. She was secretary to the principal at Santa Rosa H.S. in Santa Rosa, CA and in Denver she was an executive secretary for many years at the Denver Public Schools Administrative offices and many years in the same position for KRMA-TV. Following her years at KRMA, she was an executive secretary at the Denver Council on Alcoholism and concluded her working days as an executive secretary in the loan department at First Bank. Elaine was highly admired for her working skills, loyalty, creativeness, and great sense of humor.

She had many life-long friends whom she never forgot on any occasion. Elaine was a voracious mystery reader and an avid scrabble and card player. She loved the ocean, strolling on the beach collecting seashells, and in Colorado, picnicking in the mountains. She enjoyed 7 of her retirement years at Windsor Gardens.

Elaine leaves behind her three daughters, Diane Frank, Barbara Edwards, and Laura Musgrave; 10 grandchildren, Keli, Kari, Tony, Stacy, David, Shawn, Eric, Richard, Laura Dawn, and Denny; 7 great-grandchildren, Krystal, Kayla, Tabitha, Anthony, Skylar, Keldon, and Dakota; and was joyfully anticipating becoming a great-great-grandmother in June 2016.

Elaine is also preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Gertrude Arnold; step-father, Roy G. Nichol; son, David Cain; and great-granddaughter, Kea Aguilar.

She will be missed beyond measure.
