Eleanor was from Missouri and leaves a large family of nieces and nephews throughout Missouri, Kansas and Iowa. Eleanor spent several years in Michigan raising her four children before entering a career as a bookkeeper for a land & title company. She was a longtime resident of Wheat Ridge and lived amongst caring neighbors who always included her in their celebrations. Though widowed for 25 years, Eleanor wanted to participate in whatever life may have offered her. She enjoyed reading, sewing and other forms of needlework art but was best loved for her culinary prowess in the kitchen, baking pies and cookies and making sure no one ever left her home hungry.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association in memory of Eleanor Fern Underwood.
