Eleise Bloom passed away on December 8, 2011.
It was her wish that there be no funeral service, but for those who would like to say goodbye to her, there will be a gravesite memorial at internment of her ashes next to her husband John in the cemetery in Brush, Colorado, next Spring. The date is pending, but it will be posted here as soon as it's decided.
Eleise was born on December 21, 1924 in Boulder, Colorado, to Claude and Freda Klemme. She was very proud to be a true Colorado native. She lived in Boulder until after her graduation from the University of Colorado, when she moved to Brush, Colorado, and began teaching foreign language at Brush High School. She taught Latin, Spanish, and German at BHS and also produced and directed all of the school plays. She was also deeply involved in the Colorado Girls State program for many years. Eleise married Brush resident John Bloom, Sr. in 1948. They had two children, son John, Jr. and daughter Gaynor. John passed away in November, 1994. After her retirement from teaching, Eleise especially enjoyed volunteering at the East Morgan County Library for many years. In 2002, she moved to Denver to live with daughter Gaynor and her two "granddogs," Cody Coyote and Tucker Too.
Eleise loved her two granddogs dearly. She often said they gave her a purpose in her life after she moved to Denver and often remarked that she believed they were one of the main reasons she lived as long as she did (she would have been 87 on December 21st). Because of that, it was her wish that any donations in her memory be made to the Denver Samoyed Rescue, c/o Andi Mast, 1550 East 141st Ave., Brighton, CO 80602.
She is survived by her children, John of Ewing, Missouri, and Gaynor of Denver. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law Charla, granddaughters Jenny and Kayleigh, grandsons-in-law Brandon and Kevin, great-granddaughter Olive June, sisters Elizabeth and Carol Klemme, brother and sister-in-law Howard and Barbara Klemme, and many nieces and nephews.
