Elenita Green, beloved mother, grandmother, and cherished educator, passed away on January 18, 2026, in Denver, Colorado, at the age 84. She was born on March 8, 1941, in San Luis, Colorado.
A distinguished Spanish teacher, Elenita graced both Emily Griffith Technical College and Front Range Community College with her profound knowledge and engaging teaching style. Her devotion to education and her students was palpable, as she fostered an environment of learning that encouraged curiosity and respect for the Spanish language and culture. Elenita's proudest accomplishments extend beyond the classroom; she completed a full marathon and participated in several triathlons, a testament to her strength and zest for life.
Her love for reading, particularly religious texts, was complemented by her active lifestyle. Even in her later years, she continued to swim and walked or ran along the picturesque paths of Webster Lake. Additionally, her enthusiasm for Denver's sports teams, including the Broncos, Nuggets, and Avalanche, showcased her spirited and lively nature.
Elenita was a proud member of Immaculate Heart of Mary, being a part of the parish community almost since its founding.
She is survived by six children: John Green, Lisa O'Brien, Roberta Green, Nicole Casso, Daniel Green, and Lara Arnold, as well as fifteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Elenita was preceded in death by her beloved son, Michael Green.
In celebration of her life, a visitation will be held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Northglenn, Colorado, on January 30, 2026, from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a Mass from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
Her presence will be deeply missed, but her memory will endure in the hearts of all who had the honor of crossing her path.
