Elizabeth Jean Harvat

October 18, 1924 — June 30, 2017

Elizabeth Jean Harvat, 92, of Golden, formerly of Denver, passed away June 30, 2017.

She was born October 18, 1924 in Creston, Iowa, the daughter of Fred and Myrtle (Eckstein) Davis.

She was a graduate of Creston High School. She received her Bachelors Degree in Physical Education from University of Colorado- Boulder.

On July 29, 1951, she married Robert Harvat.

Elizabeth was a member of P.E.O. Chapter DC in Denver and also the Rocky Mountain Weaver's Guild. She volunteered at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science for 36 years.

Elizabeth enjoyed spinning and weaving. She also enjoyed visiting the mountains with her friends and family. She was an avid traveler and traveled extensively all over the world.

Elizabeth is survived by Daughter, Christine Coble; Two Sons, John Robert (Sharon) Harvat and Mark J. Harvat; 6 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; several nieces, nephews and extended family and many friends. She will be dearly missed.

She is preceded in death by husband, Robert William Harvat; father, Fred Melvin Davis; mother, Myrtle A. Davis; twin sister, Martha A. Gray and brother, Dan Davis.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Elizabeth's name to P.E.O. Chapter DC, 1735 S. Tejon St., Denver CO 80223 or to Denver Hospice, 501 S. Cherry Street , Ste. 700 Denver, CO 80246.
