Elizabeth Mary Hawthorne, 55, of Bennett, CO passed away Saturday, August 2, 2014. She was a loving mother, wife, sister, and daughter.
Liz was born on May 20, 1959 in Paterson, New Jersey. She graduated from Manchester Regional High School in 1977. On June 21, 1986, Liz married Jeff Hawthorne, and they lived in Aurora, CO before moving to Bennett, CO in 1994.
Liz was a dedicated Substitute Teacher/ Teacher's Aide, from 1996-2006 at Bennett School District. She was later a Customer Service Manager at Alcohol Monitoring Systems, where she was a beloved and respected member of the AMS community, and its customers.
Liz, being from New Jersey, maintained a deep love for the ocean and shore of the East Coast. She loved to spend time with her family, and spent many summers on vacations with her husband Jeff, and their 4 kids. Liz also loved to read.
Liz is survived by her three sons, Jason, Jeremy, and Jeffrey. She was preceded in death by her husband Jeff, in 2014; and her daughter Lauren, in 2012.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made out in Liz's honor to Anschutz Cancer Pavilion at University of Colorado Hospital.
Services will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, Saturday August 9, 2014 at 10:00 AM, followed by burial at East Lawn Cemetery.
