Elizabeth Marie "Betty" Graham, 90, of Lakewood, died Tuesday, September 10, 2013.
She was born to Charles and Minnie McCoy on February 20, 1923, in Alvo, Nebraska. She obtained a teaching degree from the University of Nebraska, and taught elementary school in Nebraska and Denver, Colorado.
Betty married Paul Earl Graham in 1949. They made their home first in Denver, and later settled in Lakewood to raise their family. Betty was primarily a homemaker, well known babysitter, and neighborhood "Grandma." She had a real gift with children, and was loved by many.
Betty was a long time active member of Green Mountain Christian Church. She loved to travel. With her lively personality and energetic nature, she lived life to the fullest.
Betty is survived by 4 children: Gary (Laura) Graham of Littleton, Steven (Debra) Graham of Westminster, David (Terri) Graham of Duluth, and Tamara (Bob) McGaha of Lakewood. She is also survived by her sister Elaine Langley of Lakewood, 8 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother Clarence McCoy.
A service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 14th at Green Mountain Christian Church, 10700 W. Exposition Drive, Lakewood, CO, 80226. A committal service will follow at Morrison Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Betty wished for donations be made to Green Mountain Christian Church.
