Ellis Slater, 66, of Englewood, passed away September 21, 2018.
He was born May 29, 1952 in Denver, Colorado, the son of Evan and Stella (Chamberlain) Slater.
He was a graduate of Englewood High School.
In 1970, he married Barbara Hinkle.
He was a member of the National Street Rod Association and participated in many car shows in Pueblo with his '42 Chevy pickup that he personally built.
Ellis loved camping, fishing and trips to Black Hawk. He cherished the time that he spent with family, especially his grandchildren.
Ellis is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Slater; two daughters, Tammy (Brent Dowler) Pearson-Dowler and Naomi (Philip) Scheidt; three sons, Brian Slater, Kyle (Heather Trones) Slater and Jeremy Slater; seven grandchildren, Steven Pearson, Caulin Linton, Christopher Linton, Kaleb Linton, Bella Scheidt, Kashden Slater and Milo Slater; brother, Ronald (Margaret) Slater; several nieces, nephews and extended family and a host of friends including Jim Brown.
He is preceded in death by father, Evan Slater; mother, Stella Slater and 2 brothers.
Private services will be held.
