Emily Montoya 1937-2013
76, of Denver, entered into Eternal Life on June 18, 2013. Wife to Joseph B. Montoya "Rusty"; Mother to four: Joseph Ron (Donielle) Montoya, Joseph Dano (Jennie) Montoya, Boniface Troy Montoya (deceased), and Stephanie (Steve) Montoya; Grandmother to nine: Serina, Ashley, Dominic, Shanice, Tanner, Tyler, Elic, Landon, and Gianna. Emily is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends. Preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Rita; her brothers, Raymond and Paul and her sister Margaret.
Emily was a loving and devoted Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Friend to all who knew her. She was a giving, thoughtful and caring person. She had passion for music, dance, family, but above all her Faith.
Her professional career was spent as a Para Professional for over 30 years with DPS. With her spare time she was an active member of various organizations and groups including Mariachi Alegre (Singer), Mestizo Dancers of Guadalupe (President), Cub Scouts (Den Mother), Holy Family of Ft.Collins (President of the Mothers and Fathers Club), Los Alegre de Colorado dance group, St. Cajetans (Organized/Cooked for News Years and Mother Day Dances), West High School (Founded the first Parent Group), Southwest Colonial Folk Dance Group (Founder), Hilos Culturales (Historian), Mother Cabrini (Volunteered with the Nuns) and Las Hermanas (Treasurer). She also volunteered her time at the American Legion Post 193 with the Lady's Auxiliary (Sargent of Arms, Membership, First Vice over 18 years) Elks and the VFW.
She was a lady of faith who continually carried on her traditions with her family and guided them…
