Emory Everett Smith, 87, of Lakewood , CO died Sat Oct.7, 2017.
He was born to the late Ethel and Langston Smith , on April 29th, 1930 in Fairfield , NC. Emory was married to the late Darlene Smith on March 14, 1951-2015. Emory served in the United States Navy from 1951-1954. After receiving an Honorable discharge, he returned to Colorado to get his wife and begin their life together. He worked and attended school in Oregon and New York before settling down back in Lakewood.
Emory worked for Dow Chemical then later for the Colorado Bureau of Mines where he retired. There, he was key in designing and implementing Air Quality Detection equipment as well as implementing improvements in Mining equipment and methods.
Emory's hobbies were many ! He loved wood working and was an AVID hunter since he was young and continued with his Sons, Son –in –laws and grand kids. He attended Grace Bible Church of Lakewood for many many years and was still active in that community of faith. He loved anything to do with his family and friends and took every opportunity to be part of all their lives.
Emory is survived by 1 of his 6 siblings, Kay Blake of Fairfield , NC., 4 Children, Fonda and Gary Travers, Colette and Jim Schmid, Mark and Debbie Smith and Phillip and Karen Smith, 14 Grandchildren and 10 Great-Grand kids.
