Ernest David Oetter, 65, of Denver, CO, passed away June 7, 2015.
He was born March 30, 1950 in Denver, Colorado, to Ernest and Davie (Akins) Oetter. He was a graduate of George Washington High School. He attended Metro State College. On September 5, 1987 he married Lisa Oldham.
Ernie is survived by his wife, Lisa Oetter; two daughters, Brittany (Dan) Hallau and Nikki (Ryan Sanford) Oetter; father, Ernest J. Oetter; two brothers, Kenneth (Deborah) Oetter and Jim (Amie) Oetter; and sister, Linda (Joel) Prehn. He is preceded in death by his mother, Davie Luella Oetter.
Ernie owned and managed a successful catering business (Panache Catering), hosted weddings, and designed and opened a Colorado brew tap-house called 2 Penguins with his long-time business partner and close friend Steve Langer.
When not at work, Ernie loved the mountains. He loved jeeping, fishing, hiking, and skiing with his family. He also brought home his skills in the kitchen and enjoyed woodworking.
Ernie was a strong, loving, and kind man and will be missed by all his friends and family.
In lieu of flowers, contributions will be used to make a memorial to be placed at 2 Penguins Tap and Grill.
