Jean Cameron Morton, 68, now of Topeka, Kansas but recently of Casper, Wyoming, died on October 13, 2013 in Denver, Colorado following a brief illness.
She was born to the late Everett and Ruth (McNeil) Cameron January 17, 1945 in San Diego, California. Jean grew up in Cheyenne, Wyoming and graduated from high school there in 1963. She received her undergraduate degree from Lindenwood College in 1967 and later received a masters in social work from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She moved between Nebraska and Wyoming during her working life, practicing in Evanston, Scottsbluff, Lincoln, Cheyenne and Casper as a social worker and psychotherapist.
Jean was an avid reader, genealogist and traveler. She loved time travel stories, family history, the national parks, and jazz. Her greatest enthusiams, though, were her grandchildren, the music of her son's band and cheering for the Nebraska football team. Go Big Red!
Jean is survived by her daughter Pamela (John) Bowles and her son Kenneth Morton and his finacee, Janet Spika, all of Lincoln, Nebraska; her brother Philip (Marcia) Cameron of Cheyenne, Wyoming; her friend and honorary family member Kathleen England of Topeka, Kansas, and Ms. England's son Richard. She is also survived by her three beloved grandchildren Kataryna Morton, Jackson Bowles and Harper Bowles, all of Lincoln, and her nieces and nephew, Keri, Kelli and Ryan Cameron of Denver and Cheyenne.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to a food bank in the donor's area of residence.
A memorial service will be held in Lincoln, Nebraska but date, time and place have yet to be determined.
