EUDA D. TEED VARNEY
Euda was born on March 21, 1913, to Earl Guy and Millie Doty Teed in Delphos, Kansas. She was the oldest of four girls. Her sisters, Earline, Oak Hill, Kansas, Hortense (dec.), Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Irene, Cathlamet, Washington.
She graduated from Delphos High School and attended Kansas Wesleyan University with a major in music. She was an accomplished cellist and was chosen by her professor to accompany him and his wife on a nationwide concert circuit as the "All Star Trio", violin, cello, and piano. At Kansas Wesleyan she met her future husband, Halbert Watson Varney, and they were married in 1934 in Hutchinson, Kansas. Two boys were born of this union, Halbert Jr. (Jeanne) and Earl Roger (Barbara, dec., Elizabeth, dec.). She had five grandchildren: Linda Varney Obel Hansford (David, dec., Benjamin), Cynthia Varney Staley (Douglas), Virginia Jeanne Varney (Wayne, ex), Susan Rogers (Tim), and Steven Earl Varney (Mary). She had seven great-grandchildren: Shannon Obel (Levi Hesse, ex, Larry Torrey, fiancé), Neal Obel, Miranda Staley, Melissa Rogers, Larson, Kyle and Lacie Varney. She had four step-grandchildren: Jonathan and David Varney, Benjamin Hansford, Jr. and Roxanne Hansford. She had three great-great grandchildren: Austin Hesse, and Nevaeh and Logan Lujan. She had three step-great-great grandchildren: Mariah Bowman, Taylor and Cole Hansford.
