Eugene Lee Miller

Eugene Lee Miller, a cherished husband, devoted family member, and beloved friend, passed away peacefully at his residence on September 30, 2025, at the age of 97. Born on July 27, 1928, Eugene lived a life steeped in love, laughter, and a sense of community that touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Eugene dedicated a significant part of his life to public service, retiring from the Department of Housing and Urban Development in 1986. His work was a point of pride for him, representing his deep commitment to bettering his community. A Navy veteran who served from 1948 to 1953, he exhibited the same sense of duty and care in his military service as he did throughout his civilian life.

Above all, Eugene was a remarkable storyteller, weaving tales that captivated his family and friends alike. He approached life with kindness, generosity, and a wonderful sense of humor that could bring a smile to anyone's face. His laughter echoed in the hearts of all who shared time with him and will continue to resonate, reminding us of the joy he brought to the world.

Eugene’s love for his wife, Karen Miller, was profound and enduring. Together, they shared countless moments of happiness, from cozy evenings spent watching Hallmark movies to the quiet yet fulfilling moments spent in each other's company. Their bond was a testament to true partnership, built on respect, admiration, and love.

In addition to his cherished wife, Eugene is survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and many friends, all of whom will carry forward his wonderful legacy of warmth and friendship. He joins in eternal rest with his beloved parents, Hilda and Dexter; his sister, Mary Louise; and his brothers, TD, Dexter Jr., and William, who are surely welcoming him with open arms.

Eugene had an unquenchable intellect and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, often challenging himself while simultaneously finding joy in the simple pleasures of life. A devoted fan of the Kansas City Chiefs, he showed the same passion for football as he did for his relationships — cheering loudly, supporting his team, and celebrating every victory, big or small.

While we bid farewell to Eugene Lee Miller, we find solace in the memories he leaves behind. He was truly a beacon of compassion and joy in our lives, and his light will continue to shine through the stories and laughter he gifted us all.
