Listen to Obituary

Ezias P. Casias passed away unexpectedly on September 1, 2026, in Lakewood, Colorado. He was born on May 2, 1979, in Bakersfield, California.

Ezias will be remembered as a funny, intelligent, and deeply loving man whose presence brought laughter and energy to those around him. He liked to make people laugh and was often willing to make fun of himself if it meant bringing a smile to someone else, especially his mother. He spent a great deal of time with her, and those moments of shared laughter will be treasured. He was smart, read often, followed current events, and was well versed on the subjects that captured his interest. He was also creative and expressive, writing rap lyrics, recording original music, singing to his family, and dancing with a spirit that reflected his joy.

For many years, Ezias worked as a painter, a trade that was part of his family’s work and one he had practiced since he was 18 years old. He took part in that longstanding family business with dedication and experience built over decades.  Spending time with his family was close to his heart, and he spent a lot of time with many different family members.

Among the things he loved most were his children, who were his proudest accomplishment. He spent a great deal of time with his kids and especially enjoyed being with his boys. He also spoke often and affectionately of his daughter. His love for his children was an important part of who he was and remained close to his heart.

Ezias was also a devoted Broncos fan and had been looking forward to the coming season. That excitement, along with his humor, music, conversation, and love for family, are part of the memory he leaves behind.

He is survived by his mother, Ruth Trujillo; his brothers, Zacheriah Casias, Zeus Casias, and sister, Zina Casias; and his children, sons Ezias Casias Jr. and Ezekiel Casias, and daughter Neveah DeHerrera. He was preceded in death by his father, John Russell Casias.
