Francisco Javier “Junior” Gomez Nacario, passed away on July 4, 2026, in Lakewood, Colorado. Born on November 4, 1996, in vibrant Mexico City, Mexico, Junior brought light, warmth, and a memorable spirit everywhere he went. Though his journey ended far too soon, the impact of his boundless compassion, infectious laughter, and adventurous heart is enduring.

Junior’s early years in Mexico City were marked by curiosity and wonder. As a young boy, he moved to Denver and attended JFK High School, where he grew both in character and friendship—laying roots in his adopted home that grew ever deeper as he grew older.

Sports and adventure were woven into Junior’s very soul. From the exhilarating energy of kickboxing and the joy of swimming, to the camaraderie on the soccer field and discipline of taekwondo, each pursuit reflected his love of challenge—and fun. He was drawn to expression and rhythm, most visible in his passion for music. Some of his favorite moments were spent drumming alongside his father’s guitar, sharing melodies and memories that will echo always in his family’s heart. Junior’s delight in creativity showed itself in many ways, not least in the graffiti art he brought to life—even turning his own room into one of his favorite canvases.

He was a jokester—a kind soul whose laughter was quick and easy, but so was his empathy. Junior could brighten a room with his wit, and just as effortlessly, sense when comfort or encouragement was needed. His adventurous spirit made him a leader among his siblings and cousins; whether they were riding bikes to Bear Creek Park or heading to the Boys and Girls Club, he was often at the center, making the everyday joyous.

Family was everything to Junior. Holidays spent together—surrounded by warmth, good food, conversation, and laughter—were among his greatest treasures. His father was his very best friend, and the bond they shared was truly special. He was a tremendous big brother to Mateo, and his love for his sisters, Melissa and Carolina, ran deep. He delighted in coloring with his niece Victoria when she was a toddler, creating memories full of affection and joy. Junior’s love and loyalty embraced his whole family: his mother, Annabel; his brother, Rayan; and his nieces Victoria, Natalia, and Carolina. Each carries a piece of his spirit and the memory of his unwavering heart.

Junior had the rare gift of leaving those around him feeling better, lighter, and more hopeful. He approached every day with curiosity, kindness, and the drive to make every gathering a little brighter, every moment a little more memorable.
