Frank J Bustos
August 25, 1950 – December 15, 2025
Frank Bustos, a proud Denver native, passed away peacefully on December 15, 2025, at the age of 75.
Born on August 25, 1950, Frank spent his life deeply connected to the city he loved and the friends he was connected with..He attended St. Joseph’s High School and later the University of Colorado Boulder, laying the foundation for a life defined by curiosity, hard work, and service to others.
Frank’s career was as diverse as his interests. He worked at Stephenson Toyota, and the Octopus Car Wash, and later found deep purpose as an instructor at Meadowlark Cottage Day Program in Jefferson County, a specialized educational and therapeutic facility serving students with significant needs. He also dedicated time to the Upward Bound Program at Metropolitan State University, helping low-income and first-generation high school students prepare for college.
Frank continued to serve his community in many ways—driving a school bus for Jefferson County and working as a security guard for various exhibits in Denver. No matter the job, he brought kindness, humor, and a genuine desire to help others.
A lifelong sports fan, Frank loved Denver’s local baseball teams, cheering for the Denver Bears and Denver Zephyrs. He was a devoted supporter of the Denver Broncos and proudly held season tickets to the Denver Gold. He also admired the legendary Oakland Raiders players, especially Ray Guy.
Frank was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Bustos Sr.; his mother, Beatrice Bustos;; and his brother, Raymond T. Bustos Jr.
He is survived by his sister, Monica Wilcox; his brother, Paul Bustos; his nephew, Matthew T. Bustos; his nieces, Ashley Yelan-Guerra and Christal Gonzoles; and his nephews, Kameron Bustos and Willem Bustos. He also leaves behind multiple great-nephews who will carry forward his stories and his spirit.
Frank will be remembered for his generosity, his easy laugh, and the smile he shared freely with everyone he met. He loved telling family history stories, always ready with a memory or a tale that brought people together. He never hesitated to lend a hand, and he cherished simple joys—especially a good pizza from the Edgewater Inn.
May his memory be a blessing and may those who loved him find comfort in the warmth, humor, and kindness he gave so freely throughout his life.
