Frank "Poncho" Clyde Gutierrez, 61, Born November 21, 1949, joined the Lord Thursday April 28, 2011 at 10:34pm. Frank grew up in Rocky Ford, CO (famous for their cantaloupes and chili). Poncho was a man of great honor who served his country and his community. Frank spent a brief stint in the US Army from '69-'71, worked for an insurance firm and also in loan servicing before beginning his career with BLM (Bureau of Land Management)Colorado on April 22, 1983. He worked in many programs in the State Office, but was most recently the State Lead for the Charge Card program! He enjoyed sports and all outdoor activities although his favorite was baseball. Poncho loved baseball (Go Rockies!), bowling (Go Ghetto All Stars!), basketball, football (Go Broncos!), pool, and horse-shoes. Poncho was an active participant in Easter Seals and the Holiday Drive. He always had a supply of chocolate at his desk for those who needed a break. Poncho is survived by his Daughter Eva, beloved Grandchildren Conner and Cynthia, Sons James and Derek, Brother Robert, Sisters Paula, Roseann, Emilia (P-Nutt), Juanita, girlfriend Cheryl, Cheryl's daughters Rachel and Rebecca; along with nephews, Robert Romero Jr., Ronald Romero, Robert Gutierrez, Jr., Michael Gutierrez, Vicente Gonzales, Daniel Gutierrez, David Medina, J.R. Garcia, Leonard Gonzale, Jr., Richard Gallegos, Jr., Nick Garcia, Zachary Garcia, Aaron Estrada and Gregory Amaya. Nieces, Ricky Romero, Pie Valdez, Becca Romero, Samantha Medina, Ida Medina, Maria Gonzales, Riann Gonzales, Lesha Gutierrez and Anastacia Amaya. Poncho was preceded in death by his Mother Jennie, his Father Lee, and his Brother Michael.
Services will be held at The Rock of Southwest, 10393 W. Alamo Pl., Littleton, CO, 80127 on May 6, 2011 at 2pm, reception to follow. Anyone who wishes to pay their condolences may attend the service.
