Celebrating the Life of Fred. Dupper

For we are God's Masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus,
so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.

On December 16, 1969, God delivered his custom made baby boy, named Fred. Raymond Dupper to Marion and Raymond Dupper, of Denver, Colorado. Denver was to become a great place to raise the young family in the south Harvard Gulch neighborhood. School was important and the family attended one of the Seventh-Day Adventist Churches regularly.

During Fred.'s first year of life, his mother was in the hospital due to an auto accident. He grew into a happy baby and on the day his mother walked again, Fred. walked too. Fred. loved to play outdoors as a preschooler with sticks and balls. He loved his siblings and wanted to do what they were doing even though they were older than he was. Fred. attended Asbury Elementary School and went on to graduate from Denver South High School. After high school, Fred. attended college in Glenwood Springs, Colorado, at Colorado Mountain College to study Political Science and Construction Management.

Fred.'s continued interest in architecture, construction and building management led him to purchase a historical building in the Capital Hill after his mother, Marion Ruth Kohltfarber Dupper passed away in 1985, where his real business sense and abilities would be demonstrated. Many would come to learn that Fred. was an astute business man, a kind and generous landlord and most of all a great friend. Fred. found many ways to help the who came to him in need. The "Building" as Fred. affectionately called it, became a place where he could "house the family he did not create", but instead "built the family" God sent to him. He attended to the needs of his tenants both day and night. Fred. loved to hang with the tenants on the first of the month when he collected rents, always listening to their stories and struggles. Time after time Fred. would cite a housing law or provision about tenants and what their rights are. This is knowledge that Fred. learned to protect his tenants and his investment.

Fred. loved road trips. His first road trip was before he was in Kindergarten, to Yellowstone, Wyoming with the family. Fred. also had a passion for motorcycles. Traveling was in his blood. Fred. loved the "Freedom of the Road" and combined the two in the summer of 2013, when he rode his Harley Davidson Motorcycle to visit his sister, Genean in Miami, Florida. He spent the next couple of weeks fulfilling a life-long dream to ride his bike to Key West, Florida. He was very proud of his long ride and would often talk about how making that trip was "way more that he expected"! He loved the wind in his hair and loved to share his experiences of meeting new people along the way.

Not really sure when Fred. became a Denver Bronco Football fan. However, he rarely missed watching or attending a game; and always had commentary to share, before, during and after the games. Again, Fred.'s passion for his team make him "over the top" with happiness after the Broncos won the Super Bowl 50 in 2016. Fred will be missed as we gather for games in future football seasons. Sparked in his youth by the love of playing with balls and sticks, golf was the 'sport' Fred. participated in most recently. His family has fond memories of chunky burritos and early morning tee times with Fred.

Fred.'s involvement with politics grew throughout his life. Fred. was thrilled to work on the Presidential Campaign for President Barack Obama. He was there with his sister, in the old Mile High Stadium when our former President was nominated the first time. He beamed and was as proud as if he had personally suggested that Senator Obama run for the highest office in the land. As many of his friends knew, Fred. became a staunch supporter of human rights, voting rights, and the progressive advancements of laws governing people of color and those who were disadvantaged. Blogging and sharing his views on social media became a big part of his life. His written voice will be greatly missed to all those who had come to love his sharp tongue, strong viewpoints and political humor on Facebook.

Fred.'s unique sarcasm and wit were silenced on May 30, 2017. His work had been done and the unique Masterpiece was completed. Fred. was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Jacob Dupper in 2005, and his mother Marion Ruth as mentioned. He is also survived by his three siblings. His sister, Genean Edgecombe of Miami, Florida, and his two brothers, Garry Dupper, Dallas, Texas and Glenn Dupper, Denver, Colorado, his brother-in-law, Michael Edgecombe and sister-in-law, Janet Olsen.

He was "Uncle Fred." to Abram Garner, Jasper Garner, and Caleb Garner and his wife Chris. Also, Donovan Dupper, Reegan Dupper, Samantha Dupper, Tyler Dupper, and Whitney Olsen; Elijah and Josiah Richardson also knew him as "Uncle".

We will all miss him greatly!

Fred. has left an unending legacy, especially to those who most of his family did now know. If Fred. was your landlord, we would take comfort in knowing that you were blessed to have Fred. in your life. Many words can be shared about our Brother Fred., but the words that meant the most to him were "Thank You" and "I Love You".

Peace be unto you Fred. May the wind be always in your hair. You have shown us all how to be one of God's unique Masterpieces.

In my heart, I believe; with my voice I ask forgiveness, and through my faith in Jesus Christ I will be saved by the Grace of God.

No services are scheduled at this time, a celebration of his life will be announced at a later date TBD.
