He was born October 24, 1953 in Denver, Colorado, the son of Gilbert and Opal (Long) Plante.
Fred is survived by his son, Jamie Lee Plante; sister, Kay Plante; nephews, Thomas Gilbert Plante and Dean Charles Plante. He is preceded in death by his wife, Madeline Plante, parents and brother, Charles Gilbert Plante.
