Fred Burleson Fletcher, Jr. was born on August 26, 1940 to Fred Burleson Fletcher and Alta (Bobbie) Mae McCool in Denver.
Fred grew up in the Lakewood area and graduated from Lakewood High School. He earned his Bachelor's Degree in Engineering at the University of Southern Colorado in Pueblo. That is where he met his wife, Jo Lynn Jones. They were married in 1964. He went to work for the Colorado Department of Transportation, traveling around Colorado and made his final landing in Idaho Springs where he retired.
He was active with the National Model Railroading Association for many years and volunteered his time and knowledge at the Colorado Railroad Museum. He helped build a portion of the Model Railroad layout in the basement. His family traveled to many train conventions, including a trip to Calgary, Canada.
He was an active Elks member for many years including his term of Exalted Ruler. His wife Jo Lynn was also very active as an Elks Lady. He had many friends and volunteered a lot of time helping with the needs of the community. His family spent a lot of time in the Elks, and his kids grew up there.
Fred is survived by his son, Fred Burleson Fletcher III, his daughter Sandra Sara Dodson, his grandson Coby Andrew Dodson, his sister Barbara and brother in law Bob Hoel, 3 nieces; Julie Goodrum, Kristy Hoel and Jeanne Hoel, 2 great nieces; Emma Goodrum and Abby Goodrum.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Idaho Springs Elk's Lodge #607 1600 Colorado Blvd., Idaho Springs, CO 80452 on Sunday, April 23, 2017 at 3:00pm
