Fredia J. Mooney-Pettersen

Fredia Mooney-Pettersen, age 60, passed away peacefully on February 11, 2022 due to breast cancer. She was born June 8, 1961 in Lubbock, Texas to Sylvester and Gloria Mooney. She married her longtime companion and love, Gary Pettersen, in July of 1997.

Fredia loved to love people. Her hands were rarely still. She had a shimmer and glow that was felt by all she met. For years she would do at home bible studies to share the word of God with her family and friends. Her life was a living example of one of her favorite Bible verses, Ephesians 4:32 — "And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ."

Fredia is survived by her husband Gary, daughter Nina, son Julian, mother Gloria Gates, sisters Victoria, Sylvia, Zelda, Beverly and brother Randy. Many nieces and nephews. All of these she loved and touched deeply.
