Garry Lewis Barnett, age 58, died at University Hospital Denver on Sunday, December 4, 2011 after a long illness.
Born July 21st, 1953 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and being an Air Force "Brat", he lived in several cities around the world including Washington, Pennsylvania, Ramstein, Germany, Oxnard, California, and Duluth, Minnesota before settling in Denver, Colorado in 1971. Garry worked for Mountain Bell and Coors. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and trips to the casinos in Blackhawk, Colorado.
Survivors include his parents Thelma (Joseph) Ward of Denver; Brothers Jason (Robin) Barnett of Spencer, Oklahoma; Kevin (Lauren) Ward, and sisters Robin Gerdine and Karin Ward, all of Denver; Longtime companion Michelle Janis; Children Garry Gibson, Keith Gibson, Anthony Janis, Christopher Janis and Ashley Janis all of Denver; and a host of Grandchildren, extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his father Benjamin J. Barnett.
Public viewing will be held from 1:00-2:00pm, Friday, December 16th at Newcomer Family Funeral Home - East Metro Chapel, 190 Potomac Street, Aurora, CO 80011. Services private.
