Gary Darrell Johnston

Gary Darrell Johnston passed away on July 19 2025 after fighting with depression following the loss of the love of his life Connie in August 2023.

Gary was born to Ladon and Darrell in 1955 and grew up in the South (mainly Louisiana) and California. He was a great reader and computer expert who was a librarian before getting into technology. Gary received his bachelor's in computer science from Regis after moving to Colorado.

Gary married Connie on Valentines Day 1990 and lived together in the house he built in Aurora Colorado throughout their journey together that ended too soon in 2023. 

Gary was the chief computer engineer for Visa mainframes for an almost 30 year tenure before his passing. His colleagues knew him as a good man who was looked up to with humor, infallible logic, and great teamwork with his team.

Gary loved to read and watch his food network, car shows, sci fi and documentaries during his free time. 

Gary was the best father to his daughter Carlye whom he and his wife Connie adored and brought her up to be a strong willed compassionate woman through Christ.

Gary is survived by his loving daughter, Carlye.
