George Krynovich, age 92, rejoined his wife Lorraine in eternal life on the eighth of October.
A proud member of the Greatest Generation, George was born in Buhl, MN to the late Eli and Annie Krynovich on 5 November 1923. He was their only son and the second of four children.
After graduating from Buhl High School and a short stint with Lockheed Martin in California, George nicknamed Kukon, joined the Army Air Corps in 1944. During WWII, he earned the Distinguished Flying Cross by flying 28 combat mission in B-24 Liberators for the 464th Bomb Group out of Pantenella Airfield in Italy. George married the love of his life Lorraine in January 1946 and faithfully served in the US Air Force flying numerous aircraft until his retirement in 1966. His second career was with United Airlines working as a flight instructor until his retirement in 1985. Thereafter, he became a full time Grandfather, champion spaghetti sauce maker, and friend to all.
Anyone who knew George knew that he was devoted to his family, lived by the Golden Rule and Ten Commandments. He was generous beyond belief. His Colorado passions were the Broncos, fishing, hunting, and golf. He golfed thousands of times at the Fitzsimons Golf Course near his Aurora home.
He is survived by his sister, Anna Yahrmatter of Hibbing, MN; two sons, Dan (Eva) Krynovich of Colorado Springs, CO and Don Krynovich of Bennett, CO; daughter, Kendra (George) Jenkins of Parker, CO; grandson, Matt (Rene) Krynovich and two great-grandchildren, Eli and Reese Krynovich of Highlands Ranch, CO.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Lorraine Krynovich; parents, Eli and Anna Krynovich; and sisters, Mildred Bruich and Delores Burns.
