George Henry Lee, 79, of Lakewood, Colorado, passed away peacefully on June 23, 2026.
George was born on January 18, 1947, in Denver, Colorado, to George and Mildred Lee. He was the youngest of seven children and often joked that he was "the rose in the thorn patch" because he was the only son among six older sisters who loved to spoil him.
George graduated from West High School in 1965 and proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1965 to 1969. He began working for Montgomery Wards in 1964 and remained with the company until its closure in 2001. He later worked for Cherry Creek Schools until his retirement in 2009.
George treasured the time he spent with family and friends. He enjoyed traveling, fishing, camping, and trying his luck on the slot machines at local casinos. His warm personality, sense of humor, and devotion to those he loved will be remembered by all who knew him.
George is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Donna Lee; his loving sons, David (Cheryl) Lee and Don (Brenda) Lee; and his cherished grandchildren, Jason, Jenna, Henry, and Casey. He is also survived by his sister, Theodora, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Mildred Lee, and his sisters, LaVelle, Georgia Rae, Palmera, Mynell and Beatrice.
George's legacy of love, dedication, and family will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
"Those we love don't go away; they walk beside us every day."
