Gerald Morley

December 10, 1929 — September 24, 2012

Gerald B. Morley (82) slipped into eternal rest on September 24, 2012 at 3:45 pm comfortably in his home amongst his loving family. Gerald was born in the winter of 1929 to the lucky parents of Samuel and Elizabeth Morley, who has preceded him along with his siblings: Morris, Margaret and Joseph.

Gerald is succeeded by: his loving wife Ingeborg, his four children: Joseph, Geraldine, Laura and Janet, his five grandchildren: Matthew, Stephanie, Marissa, Michelle and Brianne and his five great-grandchildren: Caiden, Chasey, Cylee, Madison and Joscelynn along with his youngest sister: Jeanne Morley-Rendell. Gerald was a fabulous son, husband, father, uncle, grandfather and friend; adored by all who met him.

Gerald grew up in Wall Lake Iowa and became an amazing athlete. Gerald's freshman year in high school he lettered in all the possible sports: football, baseball, basketball and track made a record that has never been beat.
Shortly after, Gerald enlisted in the US Army and fought in 3 foreign wars: WWII, Korea and Vietnam. He was a true American Hero.

Gerald was a loving father who was very active and involved in his children and grandchildren's lives. He was a coach for many years to Matthew's baseball teams and taught the grandchildren to swim, ride their bikes and eager to watch them grow. Gerald was generous with his time.

Upon entering the military, Gerald went back to school and graduated with two undergraduate degrees and half-way finished a graduate degree. He was very proud to announce that all five of his grandchildren received college educations.

Gerald was the patriarch of the family and hosted dinners at his house every Thursday; he looked forward to those evenings filled with rummy, back-scratches and football games. He loved watching his great-grandchildren play and loved to compete with them for Omi's attention. Gerald loved his wife in such a way that is indescribable; people were envious of the way Gerald loved his wife. Gerald taught the entire family that love triumphs all and you never can love too much.

Gerald will be sorely missed; however, with much faith we all know that we will meet again, with a smile on our faces in a place far more peaceful than we'll ever know.
