Gertraude "Trudy" Schmalz

Trudy passed away August 13, 2025, at the age of 85. She was preceded in death by her husband John. They were married for 66 years. She is survived by her children Patty (Dan), John (Laura), as well as Madelyn, her grandchildren Hannah (Disney), John (Shelli) and Nick. And her great grandson Tristan.

Trudy married John in Austria on October 4, 1958. A little over a year later, while John was stationed in Germany, they had their first child, Patty. The family was then transferred to New Hampshire where their second child, John was born. John’s job took them many places around the globe, but Trudy always made their house a home.

You could always count on Trudy. She would be there for you no matter what.

She was a wonderful Wife, Mom, Grandma and Great Grandma with a big heart.

If she was your friend, you had a friend for life.

She will be greatly missed.
