Gilbert Hay Ethington
November 12, 1921 — April 28, 2012
Gilbert Hay Ethington, son of Gilbert Bryan Ethington and Gertrude Rice, was born November 12, 1921 and passed away on April 28th, 2012. Gilbert is survived by his wife Lucy Belle Ethington and by daughters Tamera Stewart and Schlaine Deyo, and son Tim Ethington. Gilbert was preceded to heaven by daughters Dayna Penny Ethington and Lucy Renee Wilson. Gilbert had 6 grandchildren, Sarah, Jason, Daniel, Kyle, Edward, and Samuel.
Gilbert proudly served as a Navy Seabee in the South Pacific during WWII and participated in landings at Tarawa, Saipan, and Iwo Jima. His unit was also one of the first to enter Japan after the war ended.
Gilbert will be buried with full military honors at Ft. Logan National Cemetery on May 7th at 10:15am at Staging Area C.
There will be viewing on May 6th from 4-8 pm at Newcomer West Metro Chapel at 901 S. Sheridan Blvd, Lakewood, CO 80226.
