Gisela Blandine Henschel, 52, of Denver, passed away September 18, 2014.
She was born January 30, 1962 in Wuppertal, Elberfeld, Germany, the daughter of Rudolf and Ingeburg (Schumann) Henschel. Gisela loved to travel and eventually relocated to the United States about 1983. During the late 80's and early 90's she worked as a ski instructor for children in Vail, Colorado. In December of 1986, she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis but continued her activities with all determination. She attended CU Boulder and received her RN from the CU Health Science Center. Gisela worked as an RN until 2006 when her MS prevented her from continuing. On August 24, 1996 she married Tom Sacker, of Denver, Colorado. Together they especially enjoyed traveling throughout the Rocky Mountain West, Europe, and Mexico. She loved the outdoors, animals, and camping. Gisela was a fun loving person who loved to laugh and liked unusual things.
Gisela is survived by her husband; brother, Armin Henschel; sister, Ursula Schnier; and nephew, Daniel; nieces, Bettina and Isabel. She is preceded in death by her parents.
