Glen Bowen

August 3, 1935 — May 17, 2013

Glen was born in Grand Island, Nebraska on August 3, 1935 to Glen D. Bowen and Laverne (Jackson) Bowen. Glen graduated from Pratt High School in Pratt, Kansas. Shortly after high school Glen decided to join the United States Army. While serving active duty in Kansas, he met Ingeborg Bowen. They fell in love and got married on December 21, 1967 in Denver, Colorado.

After serving our country, Glen was discharged and began working at Gates Rubber Company. He retired from there after 26 years of service. Because he wanted to remain active, he decided to work at the Denver Auto Auction. He retired from there after 9 years. He was an active member of the Avengers Bowling Club. He was also a member of the Masons and Shriners organizations. He loved to travel, including many road trips and visiting his favorite place Las Vegas. Glen was called home to be with the Lord on May 17, 2013.

Glen is survived by two children: Jerry Bowen of Centennial, CO; Ivan Groce and Denver CO. He is also survived by his sister Roberta Gray of Denver, CO; daughter-in-law Nichole Bowen; brother-in-law Kenneth Gray; nephew Steve Gray; six grandchildren Tasia Bowen, Quentin Bowen, Isaiah Bowen, LyVette Hines, Alexandra, and Alexis Groce; and one great-granddaughter Harmonie. He is preceded in death by his wife Ingeborg Bowen after 42 years of marriage.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the American Heart Association.

The memorial service will be held at True Light Baptist Church 14333 Bolling Dr. in Denver, Colorado on Thursday, May 23 at 11:00. The burial service will be held on Wednesday, May 29 at 11:15 at Ft. Logan Cemetery.
