Glenn Duane Fulton

Glenn Duane Fulton, 78, of Sheridan, Colorado, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family, on Friday, July 18, 2014.

He was born to the late Lloyd and Nellie Fulton, August 29, 1935, in Coby, Kansas. He enlisted in the Marine Corps. He married Lauralee Murphy, May 24, 1957.

Glenn was a heavy equipment operator, over the road truck driver and many other construction jobs until his retirement in 1996.

He entered the United States Marine Corps on November 23, 1953 and served in the Korean War and was Honorably Discharged on November 22, 1956.

He was involved in the Lion's Club and he was a Boy Scout troop leader in Adena, Colorado. In the city of Sheridan, Colorado, Glenn was a volunteer firefighter, he served as city councilman, he was a police commissioner, he was also the organizer and club coordinator for the Aquarius Teen Center for the city of Sheridan who also organized the Sheridan clean up week and he was IOF teen club coordinator.

He enjoyed watching bowling and wrestling, he loved to play dominos, marbles, pitch, cribbage and many card games and had a knack of winning.

Glenn is survived by his beloved wife: Lauralee of 57 years, daughter: Julie (Donald) Armstrong, son Richard (Lacey) Fulton, brothers: Marvin (Connie) Fulton, Norman Fulton, Don Fulton, Kenny (Donnell) Fulton, Ronny (Jennifer) Fulton, sisters: Goldie (Don) Boles, Linda (Bob) Riggs, Karen (Steve) Jehorek, Nelda Fulton, sister-in-law: Frances Fulton, many nieces and nephews, adopted sons and friends. Glenn was a loving husband, father and a friend to all.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Lloyd & Nellie Fulton, Stepmother: Mary Fulton, daughter: Tracy Fulton, sisters: Clara Farmer and Norma Stewart and brother: Gene Fulton, sister-in-law: Cathy Fulton and nephew: James Holmes.

Glenn will be deeply missed by his wife, children, family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations in memory of Glenn Duane Fulton be made to Wounded Warrior Project. A Gathering Service will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home – West Metro Chapel, 901 S. Sheridan Blvd., Lakewood, CO, from 9:00a.m. - 10:00a.m. A Memorial Service will follow the Gathering Service at 10:00a.m. Burial will follow at Fort Logan National Cemetery with full military honors.
