Glenn Ellsworth Marks, 90, of Denver, CO. went to be with His Lord on Tuesday, September 3, 2013, after a long illness. He was a loving husband, brother, father, grandfather and friend and will be greatly missed.
He was born to the late Charles and Mildred Marks on August 23, 1923, in Harrisburg, PA. He was a graduate of John Harris High School, Harrisburg, PA. and Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, N.Y. He married the late Marion "Monnie" Emma Spalding on June 12, 1948 and they raised their family of 4 children in Lindenhurst, N.Y. until her death on June 2, 1973. On March 2, 1979, he married Gertrude "Trudy" Anna Mackey Heron, and they enjoyed 32 years together in Boca Raton, FL. until her death on January 7, 2011.
Glenn was a WWII veteran serving in the Army Air Corps in the Pacific Theater. After the war he went to School and became a cartoonist for Norcross Greeting Cards and then a Technical Illustrator for Sperry Rand until he retired in 1988. He was an avid golfer playing at courses in Bethpage, N.Y. and Boca Raton, FL. While raising his family he was an active member of the West Islip Church of Christ, serving as Deacon, Elder, Sunday School Superintendent, Sunday School teacher, and Music Director. He loved to sing and was often asked to sing special music at church and in weddings. Sometimes he got carried away with his singing and in one instance it cost him a speeding ticket.
Glenn is survived by his brother Robert Marks; four children: Dale and Sheryl Bussard of Aurora CO., Joe and Linda Ivie of Hesperus, CO., Timothy Marks of Clovis, CA., and Daniel and Joanne Marks of Oakdale, N.Y. He also is survived by nine grandchildren: Benjamin Bussard, Andie and Rob Nichols, Jeffery Bussard, Kevin Baker, Jaret and Jennifer McDonald, Stephanie DiStefano, Taylor Marks, Justin Marks and Dianna Marks; one great grandchild, Taitlyn Jones; nieces Cindy and Eddy Rose and Kathy and Frank Miller; and nephew Charles Corrigan. He is preceded in death by his parents Charles and Mildred Marks, his wives, Marion "Monnie" Marks and Gertrude "Trudy" Marks, his sister Frieda Corrigan, and his sister-in-law Thelma Marks.

A Memorial Service will held at Pinelawn Memorial Park and Garden Mausoleums, Farmingdale, N.Y. where he will be buried beside Monnie. Arrangements are being made and the time will be announced at a later date.
