Glenna Mae Anderson

Glenna Mae Anderson, 87, of Thornton, passed away June 16, 2017.

Glenna was born on April 21, 1930 in Colorado Springs to Ben and Myrtle Miller and was raised in Colorado Springs.

She met Charles "Chuck" Anderson and was married in Englewood on November, 8, 1947. She then graduated from Colorado Springs High School in 1948 and moved to Eglin Army Airbase, Florida in June 1948 to be with Chuck. He was discharged in July 1949 and they moved back to Colorado Springs.

Chuck and Glenna moved to Englewood in November 1950 and their son, Glen, was born on January 10, 1951. They then moved to Thornton in October 1955 and their daughter, Charline, was born on June 6, 1958.

Glenna and Chuck joined Charity Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star in November 1961 and Glenna became active and held all star points. She was also Adah for 4 times and was Worthy Matron from 1980-1981.

Glenna and Chuck moved to Parkland Estates in 1989 and when Chuck built the Ice Plant in Barstow, CA he would fly home every other Friday to bring Glenna back with him to Barstow for two weeks. During that time, she got to see a lot of the Grand Canyon.

When Charity Chapter, O.E.S. closed in 2000, Glenna and Chuck were transferred to the Loyalty Chapter. They then moved back to Thornton in September 2000 and lived in the ranch house that they have today. When Chuck was elected Grand Sentinel in 2009-2010, Grand Associate Patron in 2010-2011 and Grand Worth Patron in 2011-2012, she spent these years traveling to the 42 Chapters in the State. She also traveled to North Dakota when Chuck was Grand Representative for 2 years, traveling to Bismarck one year and Fargo the last year. She was Grand Escort to Chuck during these three years. Glenna was a member of Order of the Eastern Star for a total of 55 years.

Glenna joined Order of the Amaranth on January 19, 1984. During her time, she traveled to New York State to meet her counterpart as a Grand Representative for Amaranth and served as Trustee and Truth, Royal Matron Twice. She served in Order of the Amaranth for 33 years.

Glenna missed not going to her Star and Amaranth meetings as her health started to decline. She missed seeing her friends.

Glenna is preceded in death by her father and mother, Ben and Myrtle Miller and two brothers, Gerald and Dewitt.

She is survived by her loving husband of 69 years, Chuck Anderson; her son, Glen Anderson; her daughter Charline (Anthony) Perez; granddaughter, Kristin (Jay) Miller; two great-grandchildren, Leo and Airianna Miller; brother, Ray Miller and many nieces, nephews, extended family as well as a whole host of friends.
