Guadalupe Harper, age 92, died peacefully on February 17, 2017 following a brief illness. Lupe (as she was called) was born on May 10, 1924, in Maasin, Leyte, Philippines.
Lupe thoroughly enjoyed exercising, gardening, bowling, cooking and attending church. She was a long-standing member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Victorville, California. Lupe was known by many for making Filipino dishes that she gladly shared at church events, potlucks and entertaining. She was kind to everyone she met and extended her love of life to others.
She married the love of her life, Belwyn Harper, who served 24 years in the United States Air Force and together raised three children while touring around the world. They retired in Victorville, California.
Lupe became a permanent resident of Denver, Colorado. in 2003, where she lived surrounded by her children and grandchildren until her passing.
Lupe is survived by her children; Patricia Whitten, Lynn Harper, and Mark Harper; six grandchildren; Janel Whitten, Daniele Dickerson, Jermol Phillips, Jordan Phillips, Tatiana Anshutz, and Lyndsey Lewis-Harper; two great grand kids; Anthony Phillips and Kai Alderson. She leaves behind numerous loving relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by: husband, Belwyn Harper, of East Orange, New Jersey; father, Epifanio Gonzales; mother, Dionesia Gonzales; sister, Salvadora Bantug; brother, Generoso Gonzales; sister, Pastora Alagon; sister, Clotilde Bates - all from Maasin, Leyte, Philippines.
