Harold Frank Willman, age 65, was born July 21, 1949 to Bill and Jean Willman of Riverton, Wyoming. He passed away October 31, 2014 at his home in Aurora, Colorado.
Harold is survived by his mother, Jean Willman of Sheridan, Wyoming; a daughter, Kody K. Willman of Colorado Springs, Colorado; 2 sisters, Linda Oetken (Fred) of Sheridan, Wyoming; Joann Arnold (Matt) of Billings, Montana; and one brother, Charles Willman of Denver, Colorado; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his longtime best friend Joan MacLennan and her daughter, Jacklyn. Harold was preceded in death by his father, William Willman.
The trait that most defined Harold was family. The pride and joy of his life was his daughter, Kody. Throughout his life, he was happiest when attending Willman Family gatherings. As a child, he was an active participant as the many cousins created mischief and mayhem. Later in life, he would sit back and listen to all the happenings of his siblings, nieces and nephews. Harold would meet Kody in Colorado Springs for cookouts and to make cabbage-burgers. He was excited to be a part of Jacklyn's wedding, and he was greatly looking forward towards Kody's wedding. In later years, he thoroughly enjoyed the MacLennan family time. Every summer, Harold would go fishing and camping for a week with one or more cousins, and visiting Riverton, Wyoming for the annual balloon rally. He could enjoy quick get-away weekends to the mountains, or a quiet cup of tea at home. He was a Denver Broncos and Colorado Avalanche fan.
Harold attended and graduated from Riverton High School. He then completed training to become a journeyman electrician, and with additional training, achieving the status of Master Electrician. During his adult years he worked as an electrical inspector and plan reviewer for the state of Wyoming, the city of Lakewood, and the city of Aurora. In the final stages of his career, he was doing primarily plan review work with Colorado Code Consulting. He had been an active member of the International Association of Electrical Inspectors serving as the President of the Wyoming Chapter. In 1999 and 2002, he served on a National Panel which developed electrical code for the nation. More recently, he had been serving on the Board of Directors for the Rocky Mountain Chapter of the International Association of Electrical Inspectors. Harold has been an active member of this association for 28 years. In another capacity, he worked 8 years with the U.S Department of Energy Solar Decathlon project. This project encourages college students to design cost efficient solar homes. Harold would conduct electrical plan reviews for the college teams prior to the national competition, and then judge completed projects at the national competition.
Harold was the man you could call in the middle of the night to fix your plumbing, rescue you from a stranded car, or just be your friend. His word was his bond. He will be greatly missed.
The funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. on November 7, 2014 at Smokey Hill United Methodist Church in Centennial, Colorado followed by burial in Bear Ca?on Cemetery located in Sedalia, Colorado.
