Listen to Obituary

Harold (Hal) William Temple, age 96, passed away peacefully on 3 Jul 2026 in Denver, Colorado. Born September 17, 1929, Hal grew up in Milwaulkee, Wisconsin as the second of 10 children. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force after high school, ultimately retiring with the rank of Senior Master Sergeant on 31 October 1975 at Lowry Air Force Base, Colorado. Hal married fellow Air Force member Audrey Braxton in Aug 1954 and travelled both the U.S. and the world while raising their family—including Illinois; California; Tehran, Iran; Michigan; Okinawa, Japan and Colorado.

Preceded in death by his parents, John William Temple and Ida Mae (Keeling) Temple, Gwen Jackson, Eugene Temple, Kenneth Temple and Yvonne Williams. Survived by son David Temple and his wife Ellen McDonnell, daughter Sieann Temple and her husband Robert Rose, son Alan Temple and his wife Debbie and grandchildren Autumn Grace and Analyn Faith, sisters Carole Gupton, Sandra Temple, Ava Evans and Arleen Temple and brother Ronald Temple plus a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He is also survived by his second family Crystal Vigil and husband Isaih along with their children Crysiah, Scarlett and Lily.

Hal loved being a servant/leader both in the Air Force and for multiple local community activities including Cub/Boy/Girl Scouts, youth sports and Catholic Church charities. He loved music, dancing, games with his children (even though he did not often take defeat gracefully :-), bowling, cherished time with friends and family as well as being an avid sports fan of too many teams and sports to mention (but special shout out to Hank Aaron, the 1968 Detroit Tigers and every Green Bay Packers team).

Hal will be interred at a private ceremony at Ft Logan National Cemetery, Denver, Colorado with full military honors at 9am on 3 August, 2026. In lieu of flowers or donations, the family would appreciate you hoisting your favorite beverage of choice over a good meal as a salute and toast to our beloved Airman as he is reunited with the other Temple family members who left too soon!
