Hattie Valera "Val" Greene, 81, passed away Saturday April 25, 2015.
She was born to Ernest and Hattie Stulgies, May 29, 1933 in Omaha, Nebraska. Val married Morris Robert "Bob" Greene on June 18, 1950 – they had five children.
Val's whole life revolved around her family. Her life with Bob took them to live in several states: Nebraska, California, Oregon, and Colorado. And for 23 years Bob and Val wintered in Arizona in one of their many RVs.
Christmas was her favorite holiday; traveling to Bluegrass Festivals was a big part of her life with Bob; camping with her family was always an adventure; and she treasured any opportunity to walk on the beach. She loved garage sales and thrift stores. All of these passions were passed on to her children and grandchildren.
Val is survived by four children: Deborah Saint-Amand of Littleton, Colorado; Gail Dunn of Aurora, Colorado; Warren Greene of Meridian, Idaho; and Wanda Gianelli of Humble, Texas. She also is survived by seven grandchildren: Jared Greene, Margaret May, Sara Nesmith, Jacqulyn Saint-Amand, Lauren Mikuls, Crystal Warden, and Angela Hall. This last decade her greatest joy has been her ten great-grandchildren! She is preceded in death by her husband Bob Greene and her son Harvey Wayne Greene.
The memorial Service will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home (East Metro Chapel) from 9:30 am to 10:30 am on Friday, May 1. Interment will be at Fort Logan Cemetery at a future date.
