Hazel Irene Cavanaugh
Hazel Irene Cavanaugh of Aurora, Colorado passed away in her home January 1, 2014. Hazel was born to Herbert and Helen Harris November 13, 1928 in Miller, South Dakota. They later moved to De Smet, South Dakota where she graduated from De Smet High School. Hazel met and married Francis (Rusty) Cavanaugh September 6, 1950. In 1975 Rusty and Hazel moved to Aurora, Colorado after Rusty retired from the United States Army.
Hazel is survived by her 3 sons, Michael (Patricia) of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Randy (Brenda) of Arroyo Grande, California, and Steven (Susan) of Atlanta, Georgia and 3 daughters Jodie of Aurora, Colorado, Carol (Scott) Barker of Lee's Summit, Missouri and Karen (Dan) Allen of Aurora, Colorado. Hazel loved being a grandmother to her 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Hazel is survived by a brother David (Arlene) Harris and many nieces and nephews. Hazel was preceded in death by her parents, husband (married 42 years), sister Norma Palmlund, brother Collin Harris and a very special daughter-in-law Patricia.
