Hazel L. Carpenter, 90, of Westminster, passed away May 8, 2015.
She was born July 7, 1924 in Gill Township, Kansas, the daughter of Ed and Millie (Arnold) Eckel. On November 16, 1940 she married Clinton Carpenter. Both Hazel and Clinton grew up on farms in Wakefield, Kansas and on their way to California, stopped in Colorado. They fell in love with Colorado and made the state their home since May 1956. Their purchased home's kitchen window faced west and as Hazel worked in the kitchen, she often gazed out the window to see the Rocky Mountains.
For many years, they were members of the Antique Auto Car Club of America. Clinton restored a 1930 Model A Ford that was reminiscent of the Ford that they had on the farm in Kansas. Hazel always loved flowers and her gardens.
Hazel loved to entertain and above all, loved to spend time with her family. She loved to travel, going for rides in the mountains and sightseeing as often as she could.
Hazel is survived by Three Sons, Douglas R. Carpenter, Ronald G. (Barbara N.) Carpenter, Larry W. (Sally) Carpenter; Sister, Irma Douglas; Six Grandchildren, Doris (Bud) Coleman, Shawn (Michelle) Carpenter, Jimmie Smith, Chris (Sheryl) Carpenter, Danielle Carpenter and Aaron Carpenter; , 6 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren and Many nieces and nephews.
