Our family regretfully announces the unexpected passing of our sweet, beautiful daughter, Heather Brittany McCarty, who left this earth on October 15, 2025, at the age of 41.Heather was born in Aurora, Colorado, on October 5, 1984, to her loving and adoring parents, Richard D. McCarty Jr. and Cherilyn G. McCarty. Though her time with us was far too brief, she left an unforgettable impression on everyone she met. Heather had a passion for life, was a gentle, happy soul, and was loved by her friends and family for her mischievous spirit, spicy attitude, kind heart, and silly little jokes. She was the most beautiful person inside and out.

Heather was strong, stubborn, and passionate — fiercely independent and full of fire from the start. From the day she was born, she was adored. Her big sister took her under her wing, doing so much for her that Mom always said that’s why Heather didn’t walk or talk on schedule — she didn’t have to because her sissy did it for her.

Heather had a big personality and a quick wit. She had little patience for nonsense, couldn’t resist opening a package (even if it wasn’t addressed to her), and had no problem letting you know if you were chewing too loudly on the other end of the phone. She was honest, funny, and fiercely loyal to those she loved.

At 19, Heather unexpectedly became a big sister when her little brother Evan arrived, officially making her the middle child of the family. She cared for him and adored him as one of life’s greatest surprises. Her nurturing heart grew even more when she became “Aunt Dee” to her nieces Hannah, Makenna, and Madilynn, whom she loved like her own.

She became a momma to Kayden when he was just a little guy, sharing time with his biological mom. She loved him deeply and completely. She was over-the-moon excited to become an aunt and couldn’t help but fall in love every time her friends or her sister had babies. Heather always had a mama’s heart, but that love truly expanded when she had her own children, Peytin and Grayson.

Heather was the ultimate hands-on mom, breastfeeding, making baby food from scratch — whatever it took to give her babies the very best. She poured herself into motherhood with the same fierce energy she brought to everything in life. She adored her children and devoted her life to them; they were her everything.

Heather loved roller skating with friends, playing softball, and later coaching her daughter, cheering on her son as a proud football mom, and spending time camping and boating with family. She also loved traveling — visiting Spain, Portugal, and Jamaica — and treasured her trip to Disney World with loved ones.

Our hearts are broken, and we will feel her absence forever. Though her life was cut short, the joy she brought to our lives will never be forgotten. Heather will be remembered for her strength, her stubborn streak, her deep love as a mother, and the way she filled every room she entered. Her presence was truly one of a kind — and her absence leaves a space that can never be filled.

Heather will be deeply missed by her parents, Rich and Cherilyn; her siblings, Tiah and Evan; her children, Kayden, Peytin, and Grayson; her brother-in-law, Richie; her nieces, Hannah, Makenna, and Madilynn; her amazing fiancé, Josh Norris; and her beloved Grandma Vickie, along with countless friends and extended family who loved her dearly.

Services will be held in the near future. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to support her surviving children in her honor. https://gofund.me/7ba6f85ac
