Helen Marie Faidiga 53, of Lakewood, CO died on Saturday, September 14, 2013.
She was born to Sandra Comstock Warren and the Late, Charles Wayne Faidiga on April 4, 1960 in Salida, CO. Helen was the oldest of six children, including the late Sandy Warren, and is survived by siblings, Jody Faidiga, Venus Warren, Dola Meshell, Carlos (Tiny) Warren. Helen was previously married to James Bueno, and they had one daughter, Angela Bueno Garcia and one son-in-law, Sonny Garcia. Helen also had a second daughter, Samantha Jo Shepard (18).
As the oldest child, Helen spent much time helping around the house and spending time with her younger siblings. She was baptized in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses at age 16.
She worked various jobs including, housekeeping, childcare, waitressing, and bookkeeping. She was an extreme couponer. Helen was a meticulous housekeeper, and was highly organized. She loved scrapbooking, genealogy, crafts, journaling, and sewing. Helen was a great baker, and spent time cooking and baking large portions of food that she gave away to others.
Helen loved R & B, Motown, and country music. She loved to dance and spend time with friends.
Helen is survived by four grandchildren, Aeriana (13), Malia (10), Abigail (2) and Baby Sonny Ray (3 months). She loved to take the girls to yard sales and bargain shopping and to have sleepovers. They loved to do crafts together and to get their nails done.
One of the hardships Helen endured was the loss of 3 pre-born babies. This helped her to be more loving to other children. As a childcare provider, Helen was instrumental in "raising" a generation of children, including many family members, nieces, nephews, and children of friends. She loved these children and they loved her in return. She currently has 9 nieces and nephews and 5 great nieces and nephews.
Helen will be missed by her many friends and family members. She most recently worked as a waitress at Yanna's Cafe, and was dearly loved by her customers and co-workers. A Memorial service will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, 901 S. Sheridan Blvd. at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 19, 2013.
