Helen Pett, 93, of Lakewood, passed away March 8, 2017.
She was born June 15, 1923 in American Fork, Utah, the daughter of Leonard and Mary (Steele) Pett.
She was a graduate of American Fork High School. She graduated from Stevens-Henager College with a Business Degree.
She was married to Frank Lay of Salt Lake City.
Helen was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she was a member of the Relief Society in the Foothills Ward and the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. Helen was also an ordinance worker at the Denver LDS Temple for five years. She was also a member of the League of Women Voters, Colorado Alliance for Retired Americans and Beta Sigma Pi.
Helen enjoyed oil painting, traveling, dancing and hosting dinner parties. She will be remembered as a great cook, a fantastic mother to her children and grandmother to her grandchildren.
Helen is survived by her loving husband, Frank Lay; Two Sons, Steven Brent (Arlee) Stoker and Roger Stoker; Daughter, Carol (Larry Lemke) Stoker; 5 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by Father, Leonard Pett; Mother, Mary Pett; Daughter-In-Law, Alicia Stoker; Stepdaughter, Frankie Lay; Three Stepsons, Charles Edward Lay, James Lay and Joseph Lay; Sister, Barbara Stokes and her Best Friend, Catherine Christiansen.
