Hideyuki Ushijima, 56, of Centennial, Colorado passed away on May 22nd, 2012. After a long battle with cancer, he had the most peaceful passing and the most beautiful smile on his face when he took his last breath.
He is preceded by his father, Kinji Ushijima, and mother, Yasuko Ushijima.
He is survived by his wife, Keiko Ushijima, one son, three daughters, one son-in-law, his two brothers, and many loving family and friends.
He was born in Osaka, Japan on September 5th, 1955. At the age of 20, he came to Colorado to join the Japanese restaurant business that was just beginning to flourish. Now, the efforts of him and his colleagues have expanded the presence of Japanese cuisine throughout Colorado.
Work was his passion. Even in his late stages of cancer, he would have dreams about making sushi. Aside from work, he was passionate about golf. His friends have countless humorous stories about his golfing adventures.
He and his wife raised a beautiful family. Whenever everyone was together, the house was filled with laughter, jokes, and smiles. Even throughout his battle with cancer, the Ushijima household maintained its cheerful, fun-loving nature.
He was a loving father and husband. Even until the very end, all he was concerned with was the well-being of his family. His wife and children love him deeply and are grateful for all that he has done for them.
He was also deeply loved by the rest of his family and friends. His family would like to thank all of those who supported Hideyuki throughout his life.
