Mrs. Ira Lee Nathan whose full life of 86 years, included working as a nurse for 33 years at St. Joseph Hospital, being a full-time Denver/Park Hill resident, raising a family of 7 children, (Corinne, Viola, Billie, James Jr., Albert, Karen, and Kenneth) and married to James L. Nathan for 55 years passed away on Tuesday June 27, 2017.
She has the softest heart and a fighting spirit. She shared her heart, her wisdom, her laughter, and her love to all those who came within her world. When family, friends, and even visitors arrived at 2303 Fairfax you knew you felt the warmth of home because her love enveloped you the moment you stepped in the door. She is the bringer of joy. She is the bearer of love. To be in her company, you knew what if felt like to be loved.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Correne and Eleaf Johnson of Grady, AR, her husband (James), her daughters (Corinne and Billie), and her son (James Jr.).
She leaves to mourn her passing two brothers, Robert Johnson (Sunny) and Morris Johnson of Little Rock, AR. She is survived by her daughters Viola B. Nathan, Karen S. Nathan-Fox (James Fox), and her sons Albert G. Nathan (Kathy Lyons-Nathan) and Kenneth J. Nathan. Plus numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, relatives, and friends.
A precious one from us is gone
A precious one we loved so dear
A vacant place in our hearts
That nothing can ever fill.
