Irene Evelyn Kelley (Esbenson)
Born February 3, 1921 in Denver, Colorado. She passed peacefully from life October 30, 2015. Her husband of 63 years, Thomas M. Kelley, preceded her in 2009.
Irene is survived by her four children: son Thomas (Karen) S. Kelley and three daughters, Linda (Steve) J. Engel, Jeri L. Kelley and Jennifer A. Blankenship; five grandchildren Kacey, Ryan, Samantha, Matthew and Stephen; and four great-grandchildren Kelsey, Owen, Gus and Molly.
Irene was a graduate of East High School and earned an Associate Degree at the University of Denver and Barnes School of Business. She was an excellent secretary working at both the Federal Center and Lowry Air Force Base. She was a homemaker for 40 years and also successfully owned and managed an apartment complex in Lakewood.
She loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed golf, traveling, tennis, dancing, musicals, game shows and going out for Mexican food. She was a life-long fan of the Denver Broncos and Colorado Rockies. She shall be missed deeply by her family and her many friends that loved and cared for her at Sunrise at Flatirons Assisted Living.
A memorial service will be held for Irene on Friday, November 13, 2015, at 2:00 PM at Arvada Covenant Church, 5555 Ward Rd., Arvada CO 80002.
