Jack Gerald McDonald, Ret. USAF, passed away on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 in Aurora, Colorado.
Jack was born on July 20, 1930 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Robert Earl and Mildred (Crawford) McDonald. He was the youngest of four brothers- Bob, Bill and Jim. He joined the United States Air Force on January 13, 1951 and retired on August 31, 1976. Following his military career, Jack worked many years for the U.S. Government Civil Service.
Jack met Christiane D. Schmidt on New Years Eve, 1958 during dinner with friends. They married eight months later in Bitburg, Germany. This union lasted 54 years.
Computers and golf were Jack's favorite hobbies. He spent many hours trying to perfect both. In his younger days, Jack loved to snow ski and was an avid and accomplished bowler.
"Mac" is survived by his loving wife, daughters Barbara Hume and Maureen "Mimi" Weaver (Terry) grandchildren Kevin (Amy), Brandi, Brent, Mike and Colleen. He is also survived by 5 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Services and entombment will be held at Fort Logan National Cemetery on Monday, March 3, 2014, staging area "B" at 11:30 AM.
