Jack Herrera

June 6, 1935 — December 6, 2015

Jack Herrera, 80, of Aurora, left to fly with the angels, Sunday December 6th, 2015.

He was born June 6th, 1935 in Wheatland, WY. Jack enlisted in the United States Marine Corp in the 50's and served in the Korean War. He married Odila Maes on December 27th, 1958 in Amalia, NM. Jack and Odila moved to Denver in 1961.

Jack worked for Gates Rubber Company as a machinist. He enjoyed coaching soccer, basketball and girls softball for high school and little league.

In 1999, Jack and Odila moved back to New Mexico to live in the peacefulness of a small town. Jack worked at the ski area to pass the time and joined the pool league.

Jack is survived by his wife Odila Herrera and 4 children: Jackie Herrera, Jeff Herrera, Myra (Martin) McLavey and Lynn Herrera. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his son Scott Herrera. He is also survived by his siblings, Norman, Jerry, Amy and Randy along with several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made out to The American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer's Association.

Services will be held at Our Lady of Visitation 2531 West 65th Place Denver CO, 80021 Saturday December 12th, 2015 at 10am (reception following services).
